Hi folks,
Over the years I've often poked my nose into this newsgroup if only to marvel at the level of knowledge on all sorts of weather issues and also to add to the information from the tele. forecast on what to expect from the weather. So can I be cheeky and ask a question. Hubby and I are going camping in the motorhome near Cirencester, hopefully for a few days during the first two weeks in July. Question is, which week would be the better bet? Looking at Will's forecast it's being to look to me as if the dry weather will break up in July. Have I got that right? Jan |

The Met Office offer this one liner forecast, but probably doesn't go far
enough into July. However, it does appear we are heading into a more unsettled spell of weather, cooler and wetter. The question is how long will it last? My personal feeling is July and August we see a lot of this, however, there will always be a few days when things settle down and warm up. Fingers crossed these are the times you are away. :-) Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net Headline forecast for 07 June to 04 July 2004 Warm or very warm initially with some thundery rain. Gradually becoming wetter with average temperatures later. wrote in message news:tFzAc.259$we5.133@newsfe3-gui... Thanks Keith,
I think we've been spoiled over the past month. Ah well, if it is unsettled and unpredictable at least we will know we are in Britain. Jan "keith.r.harris" wrote in message ... news ![]() I think we've been spoiled over the past month. Ah well, if it is unsettled and unpredictable at least we will know we are in Britain. Unpredicable is what I predict for most of the rest of this year. That's because I know so little about these changeable spells. The one clear spot is for July which will be seriously wet. Not just here too neither. Look out for super-typhoons on sci.geo.meteorology. If they fail to occur look out for far worse. 07 July 02:38. Unsettled, possibly humid and a little breezy. 13 July 19:22. Low pressure. High winds.* 21 July 07:04. Low pressure.* 29 July 06:53. Thank goodness no-one noticed I got the wrong year he
07 July 02:38. Unsettled, possibly humid and a little breezy. 13 July 19:22. Low pressure. High winds.* 21 July 07:04. Low pressure.* 29 July 06:53. Low pressure.* http://hometown.aol.co.uk/weatherlaw...ewsletter.html I hope no-one thinks to check the records. I really must update my site. Here is the forecast for July 2004: 02 July 11:10. High pressure and a little breezy 09 July 07:39. Ridges, cols or troughs perhaps a little breezy too. 17 July 11:25. Ridges, cols or troughs 25 July 03:38. Ridges, cols or troughs and breezy. 31 July 18:06. Unsettled. I don't know why I wrote "Unsettled" for the 31st. It should read "Low, overcast and a lot less windy than the stuff we will be getting until then." -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |

But a ridge is the opposite of a trough and its characteristic weather is very different. So I can't see that your forecasts for the 9th, 17th and 25th give any useful information. -- John Hall "It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information."
