Hi all,
Yesterday (18th June), here in Glengarnock (20 miles south of Glasgow) from 1540-1600 UT, we had an impressive thunder storm. At its peak it produced an intense hail storm lasting for around 10 minutes. The hail quickly blocked downpipes and started to cascade off of our roof, accumulating in 'drifts' below. One of these drifts was just over 12 inches deep. As I write, some 20 hours after the storm, I can still find pockets of hail in the garden. It felt truly bizarre last night when I crunched my way over the hail to check for NLC! I have a few images online at: http://www.nlcnet.co.uk/hail/ Tom -- +--------------------------------------------------+ | Aurora info: http://www.baa-aurora.fsnet.co.uk | | NLC info: http://www.nlcnet.co.uk | +--------------------------------------------------+ |
