Default Hard Facts?!

Hi all,

Would be good if someone in the know (Philip?) could give us some hard facts
regarding pressure, rainfall and wind speeds along with records and the like
for this storm.

Just a thought!

Thanks,

Jeremy

Default Hard Facts?!

There have been June gales before and in 1938 the wind exceeded 60 mph in
the London area on two occasions during the month. Croydon reported a gust
of 68 mph on the 28th. However not to detract from the fact that it was an
unusually deep low for the time of year down to 982 millibars at one point.

Without wanting to appear unduly simplistic, was there any particular
reason or combination of circumstances that caused yesterday's low to be
so unusually deep? If so, do we know how these circumstances compared to
the other record June lows?
