My deepest sympathy to Mike and his family. Like most on this ng, I don't know Mike personally, but his tragic loss has really
saddened me.

I've held back because I feel very awkward posting in this thread,
knowing that whatever I say will make not one jot of difference to how
Mike and his family are suffering right now. I can only hope that in
time, he will look back on our words and take some comfort from them.

That's exactly how I felt. I didn't really want to be one more 'me too'
contributor saying the same thing because as you say, my words
won't make one jot of a difference to Mike.

However my first reaction to the news was 'My God!' and that he
and his family manage to pull through at this terrible time.

I hope that Mike sees this thread and realises he has many friends
thinking of him.

I'd just like to join in because you both have summed up entirely my
feelings. Just hope that we are some sort of help

I suddenly wondered why I hadn't heard anything from George Booth from
Epping, since the 20th, however checking that last e-mail I see he is
in the north of Scotland atm. I'm sure he will be as shocked as the
rest of us of this news when he returns to the fold.

I can only say, meekly, me too. I can't imagine how he and his family
must be feeling.

I have only come across this thread today.
I can say little more than what has been said by many already.
