Yes, it is down, today of all days!. John Culf at Avbrief says that the
problem is at the Met Office end. That's what we get by trying to have a Met
Office on the cheap.

Both Weatheronline and the Met Office aviation briefing site seem OK at 1645
BST,
best regards,

Jim.

And the radar images on the BBC website seem fine.

I sometimes wonder why I bother paying for the Avbrief radar service, even
when it is up and running it rarely seems to be on time.

Same here too - stinks to me a bit !

MetO restricting data to its purchasers when interesting weather around to
make people subscribe to them rather than AVbrief ?

How can MetO be updating if problem is their end ?

Mark.

They are two different feeds of data.

PJB - how does that work ? Genuinely interested.

So Raw data comes directly from Radar sites rather than through MetO ?

No it comes from the Met Office, but the feed that drives the web server is
not the same as what gets sent to external customers such as avbrief. The
problem was reversed the other week, no website data was available however
Avbrief was receiving the data.. There is no problem with the radar network,
it is simply a comms problem at the met office with this particular data
feed. If i was avbrief i would be asking for a REFUND !!

Perhaps the MetO have unplugged their end because of the interesting weather
.... (only joking)

thanks for the reply PJB.

I would too if I was AVBrief - as as far as I am aware the data they
purchase is rather expensive.
