Default Good Old Britain

Despite the Europe wide heatwave and drought, good old Britain once

again
has to buck the trend with outbreaks of thundery showers, sea mist.
Where the hell have these appeared from.
Its always the same, everytime theres the promise of some really

decent
temperatures and prolonged sunshine there it is, waiting in the wings

to
wreck everything. Forecasters said yesterday that only the southwest

may be
affected, then why did it rain as far east as London this morning. The

sun
here seems very hazy this morning with quite a bit of cloud floating

around.
You may have guessed from my tone, I am a sun and heat lover.

Hi, Len,

Get out and enjoy it while it's there! I'm a sun and heat lover also. I
never expect it to last here, so every sunny day is a bonus! High
yesterday was 26.6C, warmest of the year and 13hr sun, but it soon
degenerated to 12C and showers overnight. This morning is showery and
16C - but this is the eastern Pennines and the North Sea influence is
always waiting to pounce. Our local forecast is for North Sea haar to
appear by the weekend.

I'm going to Madeira next week where there will be more sun lovers. Best
place I've been is Death Valley in July, and no-one was complaining
about the heat!

BTW, anyone in the Vale of Pickering / Tees-side area? The radar shows
some pretty heavy downpours for most of last night. Nothing showing on
WeatherOnline, though.

ATB,
