Nick,
Like it a lot. I can see the clouds towering to the east of me (Hereford), now I can see where they're above. I'm interested in the script; is it on your site ? Andy B - Hereford Nick Webster wrote: Hi, I've written a script which downloads the latest images from AV Brief (but it could be modified to download any radar image), and then superimpose it on to a topographic map of the UK. The script them downloads current lightning data from Meteocentre and also superimposes this on the image. It then saves the images as your wallpaper (currently at 1280 x 1024, but this can be changed) and updates it every 5-minutes. I use a program called ImageSalsa (http://store.shopambient.com/imweweso.html - $19.95) to do the superimposing and fetch the images via my VBScript. I just thought this might interest some people, as it does save some time checking the two sites and trying to correlate the positions of rain/lightning. You can see a grab that I did at http://www.ribble-valley- weather.info/sample.gif. If anyone's interested LMK and you can have the script FOC. Regards. |
