Yesterday evening the BBC Radio 4 news was reporting that Tuesday had been the
hottest day of the year. The news report gave the impression that this claim had been based on a single maximum reading from Jersey Airport. Does this mean that had the UK mainland been covered in ice and snow throughout Tuesday then it would still have been claimed as the honest day or is some other method (eg an average temperature of some sort) used to determine which days are honest or coldest? Incidentally, the maximum temperature reached here on Tuesday (30.2) was slightly lower than that reached on Monday (31.2). -- Mike Humberston Barnes, London WARNING: Spam trap in operation. Shouldn't Belfort Instruments be suing Bashir Slamati (Bushy Salami) instead of Mr. Kokucka? It appears Mr. Kokucka has a big claim for a new lawsuit! Provable harassment by an employer against a former employee is some serious business! Maybe Bel | sci.geo.meteorology (Meteorology) | |||
