Quite a spectacular thunderstorm here in Wokingham this afternoon, very
similar to Martin's description from Bracknell. Thunder first hear at 1444Z
to NE, strong wind gusts ca 1505Z, tl became frequent and close at times
between 1520Z and 1545Z, prompting disconnection of all outside aerials,
dishes etc, and powering down PCs and isolating from mains. Closest CG about
300m away, but several within 1.5km. Able to reconnect PCs and equipment for
the 1603Z noaa12 pass, though still 1 or 2 CC discharges in the vicinity,
some overhead. Very little rain until 1547Z, then mod ocnl hvy intensity
until 1710, when pptn ceased. Last thunder was at 1702Z.

Satellite images of the storms from noaa16 at 1405Z and noaa12 at 1603Z are
on the web site, together with cloud top temperatures.
