From Helen Young's survey of weather around the world on 29 July on the BBC Weather Centre site: "Bangladeshi Prime Minister, Khaleda Zia, has made an appeal for international aid to help his flood stricken country. Over 300 people have died and thousands have been left destitute after rivers burst their banks during the monsoon." I have studied the thread and I have to say I haven't any more clue now what you are getting at than I had when I read the original posting. Philip. Please explain. Well, amid all the noise, Steve Howarth explained. The Bangladeshi Prime Minister is a woman. I'm not a political or current affairs anorak but I knew that and I would certainly have expected Ms Young, who is a bright person and geography graduate, to know that ... or at the very least to have checked it. The "a" at the end of her Chri E E E forename might also have given a clue. The thread heading was, forgive me, mildly sarcastic. Now, spot the oxymoron gr Philip Eden |
