respectable 29.7C (85.4F) mid-afternoon here in Chelmsford. Tom |

Would be interesting if tomorrow beats that. I wonder how often the
equivalent date (Sunday,if you know what I mean) in two consecutive years gave the highest temp. Especially if both were over 30C. A moderate easterly breeze has sprung up here tonight making it feel cooler although still 19.8C at 11.30pm. I don't think tomorrow's cricket match at Billericay will be quite as hot as last years though! Dave "Tom" wrote in message . .. Hoping to reach the magic 30C but didn't quite make it! Hoping to reach the magic 30C but didn't quite make it! Reached a very
respectable 29.7C (85.4F) mid-afternoon here in Chelmsford. And an almost equally respectable 29.5°C here in Warlingham. Dewpoint 10°C (whirling psychrometer). And tomorrow is forecast to be *another* hot and humid day. I know what they mean, but do they know what they mean, and do they know that I know that they don't know what they mean? I don't know. You would think I would beat that today what with the temp already at 22.1C but the sun is pretty hazy and there is some cirrus coming in to the SW. Alex is not far away..... And for those Southerners who think they are getting a lousy summer yesterday was only my second 25C+ day of the year. You have to go way back to June 8th (25.6C) for the other one.
