Seems to be a TS developing near Cherbourg and moving N. May affect Southern
England during the night...

Scuse me Phil, but where is this Cherbourg Peninsula? I know of the
Cotentin Peninsula, with Cherbourg at the northern end, is this what you
mean? Its a bit like the French calling Devon & Cornwall the Exeter
Peninsula.

More development on the frontal plume with sferics breaking out over the
Salisbury Plain area.

TS recently reported at Lyneham and Boscombe Down :-

If the Cotentin Peninsula is the bit of land with Cherbourg at the top then
thats what I meant. Ive never herd of it before....but I bet if that what I
siad, that quite a few on the ng wouldnt of had a clue where I was taliking
about... perhaps its just me.

Perhaps its like you say Phil. People won't or don't use its name cos
they're afraid people won't know where it is. Everyone knows where
Cherbourg is, so they started to use that instead.
