22.8°C here at Warlingham at midnight BST but part of a slow steady fall.
Rises of temperature during the night in this part of the world during hot
weather are not that uncommon. I have dug out my thermograph trace for 5 - 6
Aug 2003 and it shows a min of 19.0°C at 2200Z rising to 24.2°C at 0300Z and
another min of 23.3°C at 0430Z.
The 22.8°C at midnight here is probably the highest at such a time (21
yrs record) and I'm hoping for a record minimum, with 19.7°C on 4 Aug 1994 to
beat. Actually, I'm hoping for a min of 0°C because I want to get some sleep.
No sign whatever of rain or any other activity.
