Default Spurious report - anyone confirm?

Just had a newspaper on the telephone to say that the Press Association
wires are reporting a temperature of 35.4C at the London Weather Centre.

I have checked all my obs and sources, and they are nearer 33C then 35.4C. I
saw Heathrow managed 34C.

Can anyone elaborate on this. I would like to know where they got that
figure from.

Incidentally, temperature in Wombourne at 1450 GMT is 29.0C.

Best wishes all,
Simon

Darren Betts on BBC News 24 was saying just half an hour ago that the
Central London record of 35C has been broken.

Regards,
Far

London & London City both report 35C on Weather Underground

However, LWC hasn't updated since 10am.

Being totally subjective, it feels *much* hotter today than yesterday in
South Cambridgeshire. And cam.misc is having a lovely time discussing
the temperatures registering on various thermometers :-)
