Default CBs from a balloon

Heavy showers developed in places in Belgium yesterday evening Tuesday 10th
August.

Associated CBs were photographed by Karel Holvoet of the Belgian (Flemish)
weather discussion group from a hot air balloon above Villers-la-Ville about
40 km south of Brussels http://www.phys.uu.nl/~holvoet/040810 .

Some rainfall totals from the showers:

Leuven - NE of Brussels - 13 mm in 30 mins.
Zomergem - 30 km SE of Bruges - 22 mm in 45 mins.
Putte - 35 km NE of Brussels - 28 mm in an hour.
Olen - 25 km south of Turnhout in northern Belgium - 46 mm in an hour.

Good pictures, but I'm surprised a balloonist would fly in such conditions

Being a balloonist myself i am absolutely gobsmacked and amazed that anyone
would even contemplate flying in those conditions!!!!

Just for once i am lost for words.......

I just hope the weather for the big Bristol Balloon Fiesta this weekend is
not so 'interesting'
