Default Weather for Switzerland

Hi there everyoe,

We're off to Switzerland (Bernese Oberland) for 10 days on Saturday. Can
anyone recommend any good sites which provide reliable weather forecasts for
Switzerland preferably for several days ahead

Thanks very much

David.

I shall be joining you soon. I hope to be studying the retreat of the
glaciers and will be doing an article for Weather eye magazine on the Rhone
and Aletsch glaciers. High pressure should be prevailing over central Europe
as low pressure continues to hold sway close to the British Isles.

Mine too, I went there last August and made a point of going to the
Aletsch and Rhone glaciers. They have carved a tunnel in the Rhone
glacier and you can walk though it, very pleasant when it was nearly
40 C in the lower parts of the Rhone Valley, in Valais Canton.

Strangely, large numbers of Japanese people in Grindelwald.

Couldn't afford the train trip to the Jungfraujoch, sadly.

Yes, you do need a mortgage to go on the Train, but you can't take it
with, if you know what I mean. Incidentally, it was that day we went
up the Jungfraujoch that the terrible storm hit the mountains killing
those youngsters who were walking one of the gorges. Keep an eye on
the weather, it changes rapidly their.

Have a great time.

Well worth doing though. We wouldn't have afforded it either, except that we
were given tickets that took us most of the way up by some fellow campers who
were leaving. Such is the cameraderie of campsites.

The view from the top is probably stunning , although you have to pick your
day. We didn't! We simply used the reamaining day on the 5 day tickets. We
enjoyed the walkabout on the snow, despite our spinning heads and shortage of
breath. And yes, there were lots of Japanese tourists, all happy and
smiling, lovely people.
