Yesterday evening we had another thunderstorm & over 1" of rain (just -
25.5mm in fact). That makes 3 such falls in the last 10 days, something totally unprecedented in my records. On a brief check, the shortest previous period for three falls of that size was 53 days in 2000. -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham |

Hi Paul
Only had one heavy rainfall event this month, 32.6 mm on the 3rd. A total of 59.3 mm so far. I work in Birmingham and there have been quite a few notable downpours over the last two weeks during the day. It seems that Worcester has missed a few of these. My average max temp in Worcester is currently 27.1C (1-13th) which is nearly as high as the first 13 days of August 2003. It has been a strange summer with July having the coldest day I have ever recorded (14.6C on the 8th) yet ending up a warm month overall. In fact I think the summer will end up being much warmer than normal yet it feels like it has been pretty miserable all round.
