Yesterday evening we had another thunderstorm & over 1" of rain (just -
25.5mm in fact).

That makes 3 such falls in the last 10 days, something totally
unprecedented in my records.

On a brief check, the shortest previous period for three falls of that
size was 53 days in 2000.

Hi Paul

Only had one heavy rainfall event this month, 32.6 mm on the 3rd. A total
of 59.3 mm so far.

I work in Birmingham and there have been quite a few notable downpours over
the last two weeks during the day. It seems that Worcester has missed a few
of these.

My average max temp in Worcester is currently 27.1C (1-13th) which is nearly
as high as the first 13 days of August 2003.

It has been a strange summer with July having the coldest day I have ever
recorded (14.6C on the 8th) yet ending up a warm month overall. In fact I
think the summer will end up being much warmer than normal yet it feels like
it has been pretty miserable all round.

Nick.

Almost double that here.
