Default (WR)Active Tstorm - South Yorkshire

Active thunderstorm just after 2pm moved over Rotherham from Sheffield
area. Very frequent forklightning and heavy rain. Lightning immediatly
overhead with forkligtning then loud thunder straight away. Impressive
how quickly it then cleared to bright sunshine only about 15 mins
after it was at its worse.

During this storm lightning struck both the Garage next to were I work
and the building I work in. This did remarkably no strcutural damage
but has killed the security system and part of the fire alarm system.
The mechanic at the garage tell me the lightning entered the building
and travelled along metal conduiting round the room till it reached
the earth cable. Must see about lightning conductors.
