Good evening, all.
Yesterday's 39C at Elefsina was just the requiem of the relatively warm two-days spell Greece experienced. The northeasterlies are now well established and temperatures have dropped to comfortable levels -along with diurnal temperature ranges. Samos, in the eastern Aegean, recorded 34.6C but was far warmer than most of the rest of Greece; Tripolis was resting at 13C early in the morning. Peak gusts were 47 mph at Kythira and Thessaloniki -only 29 mph at Rhodes (Paradissi). The onset of the etesians is said to have been quite dramatic in places like southern Evia isl. The olympic cities reported: Athens (Elliniko): 26-32.4C Thessaloniki (AP): 21.2-29.2C Irakleio (AP): 21.8-29.4C Patras (AP): 19-31C Volos (AP): 19-30C Drop in dew point as of 221900C in S.E.
