259.4 mm for August - second wettest month in last 40 years at least (Jan
1993 had 270 mm). 80 mm on the 9th was certainly the wettest day in living memory. I await the results from my auto-self tipper that i have for the Scottish enviro agency to see if this total rises. brian aberfeldy |

185.0mm was the total for the month down here in the lowlands rain shadow.
Approximately 275% of the expected average. The wettest month since January 1999 and probably the wettest August in this area there's any record for. The wettest day was the 9th here also, but only a meagre 26.6mm by comparison. In the week that commenced 6th August, 130mm fell.
