Default Barncam updates

For the BarnCam fans here; I've updated the scripts that encode the
daily time-lapse movie. The animation is much smoother now thanks to a
20s capture interval rather than the previous 1 minute; plus the movie
is now 640x480 rather than 320x240.

Filesizes should be about the same as before - around the 10Mb mark at
the moment (roughly 12 hours of daylight), and only some loss of quality
due to the greater compression.

If you are quick and download yesterdays movie, there's a good view of
the transatlantic Red-Eye's on their way over to Holland, Belgium and
Germany, just as the sun's rising - they look like meteors.

Hi Les,

All the animation is basically is a compressed sequence of the 20s JPG's
formatted as mpg.

I use mpeg_encode for Linux - you can get it he

http://bmrc.berkeley.edu/frame/resea...eg_encode.html

It has way more features than I use - including paralleling across
multiple computers - it's an excellent tool.
