================================================== ===============
This forecast summary is my *PERSONAL OPINION* of how the weather may unfold next week. I will take no responsibility whatsoever for any actions arising from its use. It is provided freely in the spirit of freedom and the great love for meteorology that I personally enjoy and wish to share freely with others. ================================================== =============== Summary valid for Sunday 05/09/04 to Saturday 11/09/04 TOI (time of issue) Thursday 03/09/04 2100 UK local time This summary is based on a quick appraisal of the GFS, JMA, ECMWF, UKMO, FAX, and ENS (NCEP ensemble) labelled charts available from the superb http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten High confidence that next week will turn out to be fine, dry and warm in most places with fog patches at night as an anticyclone builds over the British Isles. Big uncertainties on the orientation of the axis of high pressure so cloud distribution is very difficult to predict. Eastern areas likely to see most cloud and there is a very good chance of a stiff easterly wind developing in southern areas, possibly giving easterly gales over the moors of SW England (30% risk). Scotland may see a return to rain in the second half of the week if low pressure over Iceland develops and tracks southeastwards (20% risk of this). Also 20% risk of a thundery breakdown in the south after thursday, but in this scenario Scotland will stay dry. Generally odds on favourite though for a lot of dry and fine weather in all areas. As always this and previous forecasts are available at http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/weeklydiscussions.htm This forecast was brought to you from the now world famous meteorological office at Haytor on Dartmoor where old fashioned values of service are alive and thriving in the beautiful Devon countryside. Will Chief Forecaster USW -- " A cup is most useful when empty " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A COL BH site in East Dartmoor at Haytor, Devon 310m asl (1017 feet). mailto: www: http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk DISCLAIMER - All views and opinions expressed by myself are personal and do not necessarily represent those of my employer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
