provides a wonderful insight into the social impact of a hurricane on a
island and with it being laid-back Jamaica, a sometimes humorous one.

"It's a bit windy and a bit rainy but we're all ooo-kaay."

Apparently, the roof has been lost on one of the official shelters.

Can't thank Mark enough for that link.

I haven't been able to connect to it, so if you're lucky enough to be on -
make sure you don't close your player!

I'm on now after a few minutes of re-trying.

The animation of the storm at
http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA...-vis-loop.html would appear to
indicate the eye might swerve the south coast and not go inland...

Didn't take long to sort it out. Interesting.

Ivan's eye seems to have turned Westerly - away from Kingston - at the
last minute, staying a few miles out at sea for now... can't tell how
close the eyewall got but fingers crossed.
