================================================== ===============
This forecast summary is my *PERSONAL OPINION* of how the weather may unfold next week. I will take no responsibility whatsoever for any actions arising from its use. It is provided freely in the spirit of freedom and the great love for meteorology that I personally enjoy and wish to share freely with others. ================================================== =============== Summary valid for Sunday 26/09/04 to Saturday 02/10/04 TOI (time of issue) Thursday 23/09/04 2100 UK local time This summary is based on a quick appraisal of the GFS, JMA, ECMWF, UKMO, FAX, and ENS (NCEP ensemble) labelled charts available from the superb http://www.wetterzentrale.de/topkarten High confidence that next week will turn dry and anticyclonic after a showery start in the north. On Sunday Scotland looks like being very windy with westerly gales in the north as a deep low runs east across the Faeroes. There will be spells of rain too, turning showery later. Northern England and northern Ireland could also see a bit of rain, although in the shelter, NE England should see very little. Still windy here. The rest of the UK should stay dry and quite bright, especially in the south where it could turn warm in much lighter winds. On Monday winds will turn northwesterly as the low runs away to the east. These winds will still be strong at first but will slowly ease. Sunny intervals and showers in the north, with still a few heavy showers. Mainly dry over southern Britain with long sunny spells. Temperatures around normal. For the rest of the week all areas should become mainly dry. A lot of cloud at times but also some sunshine too. Temperatures around normal generally, but warm in the south and parts of the east. Light winds and patchy fog at night. Little frost though. Towards the weekend there is a moderate chance of more wind and rain spreading in from the west as the high weakens and Atlantic fronts encroach. Low confidence of a stormy spell the following week. As always this and previous forecasts are available at http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/weeklydiscussions.htm This forecast was brought to you from the now world famous meteorological office at Haytor on Dartmoor where old fashioned values of service are alive and thriving in the beautiful Devon countryside.
