![]() I thought I'd been silent long enough, so here's a piccy of this evenings sunset with rainbow over the Pennines. A bit of a dodgy panorama, but you can see the cloud formation quite well. The sky was a beautiful blue in the other direction, and we didn't get more than a few spots of rain. I was up near Oban last week and still can't believe how much rain fell on us - at least it drowned the midges ![]() http://home.clara.net/ra.evans/rainbow/ -- Anita Evans North Cumbria (anita[at]ra.evans.clara.co.uk to reply by e-mail) |

There are quite often vast areas of blue in the Oban meteograms. Does it normally actually turn out that way? If so, the annual rainfall for Oban must be huge. Or is there some peculiarity of the model they use which always over-predicts the rainfall for that area? -- Steve Loft, Wanlockhead, Dumfriesshire. 1417ft ASL http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/weather/ Free weather softwa http://cumulus.nybbles.co.uk/ Experimental webcam: http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/webcam.php |
