Default La Crosse weather Stations

Hi All
Anyone running a La Crosse WS2500 weather station and care to voice an
opinion up on it?
I've been looking at various options, one adverse comment about the
lower WS2300 model I've seen is the poor wind speed reporting. As the
WS2500 appears to have a proper cup anemometer, does this problem still
apply?
Also what's the practical wireless range achieved, with a couple of
house walls in the way?

Other options on my list are the Oregon WM968.
Also considered the Davis VP, nice, but expensive and the "Integrated"
bit of the ISS cause me siting problems.

Thanks
