The heavy rain shown moving NE on the recent radar imagery has
developed an intense pocket just to the East of Southampton just West of Fareham) and I mean intense (32mm/hour on the avbrief 2030Z image). Completely knocked out my Sky satellite reception. No thunder or lightning. Grrr!!!! -- Dave Fareham (West) |

Its hit here at about 22:10 I cant measure how intense it is but the drains in the road are making an ominous gloop-gloop sound. Ive just sand-bagged the air-bricks. Sarah H - Fleet, Hampshire |

Wow, it shows up beautifully on the 2045GMT radar image, my house is actually within the single 5KM white (32mm/h) block. Here's an enlragement of the radar image (my house is dead centre inside the circle) http://www.daveludlow.clara.net/weat...20_2045GMT.gif Radar calibration complete! ![]() -- Dave |

Sarah H - Fleet, Hampshire My local local late night shop was flooded, as were some local roads (but not blocked). I measured only the last hour of the rain event, from when the satellite went off (forgot to empty my guage until then- oops!) and that measured 12.3 mm. So looking at the radar images, I probably had about 25 mm in all, in the two hours it was raining. -- Dave Fareham |
