Default Continuing mild

No sign of winter yet
Very unsettled, but also very mild weather is likely across much of England
and Wales during the next few days. Low pressure areas moving up from the
south west will bring strong winds and heavy rainfall at times to most
places. With this type of set-up, it is extremely difficult to put precise
details on how much rain there will be and when exactly it will. As usual,
if you are concerned, then check the UK Met Office homepage for severe
warnings as they have dedicated resources to monitor short range weather
developments constantly.

We've had a number of em's asking whether we will be issuing a winter
forecast this year. Of course we will! However, we are only half way through
the period covered by our autumn forecast, and it is still too early for us
to be confident about what weather this winter will bring. At the moment
temperatures in the south are well above normal, and there is very little
evidence of a significant cooling trend taking place. In fact, at the moment
medium range computer models are offering some evidence that high pressure
will build over the near continent. Once this type of pattern becomes
established it can be very difficult to move, and it is this which has
brought so many mild winters to the UK during the last 15 years.

My Comment:

With oil prices at current levels. This is fine
by me.

Lmao like they know feck all , like the 1979 and 53 photos
that appear every winter on their site... Btw did they ever think that
every winter there is atleast one mild spell sometimes more and there has
been
azores high pressures or europe high pressures before siberian
weather?

The start of this year we had mild weather, and everyone on two cried
END OF WINTER its over blah blah and what happened? it got cold
and it snowed some parts had alot and some didnt. Id much prefer
an azores high or europe high in nov than in jan let it happen now
rather than later

Default no cold weather

So Tom Presutti and Met Check aren`t shouting too loud now about their
pathetically wrong cold forecast the other week. Why dont these people, who
incidentally try to belittle the Met Office, ever come back to apologise for
their lamentable errors. Or is it that as I presume they want the kudos of
seeing their name in print in the daily rags.

I think you'll find if you check your facts Tom P didn't issue a cold forecast
the other week.Metcheck did, take it up with them.
Incidentally how often does the Met Office apologise for their errors ( I'm
sure there have been one or two.)

Incase you never actually checked my October forecast - here is what
it said:

"Now with the last 2 Octobers falling below average, and once agan
models like clockwork have heights building yet again over Greenland
and the mid atlantic to tease us with a northerly dominated month,
it's important not to let your judgement be clouded by what happened
last October! Although this October is set to start chilly, it may not
last all too long, as a more zonal picture takes shape after mid
month."

I wont add a link as I'm not here to advertise, just to defend myself

and I don't go for the press, I'm not even aware I even made a
national newspaper lol ;-)
