Splindid pictures, John. I would have liked to have seen some indication of
the time they were taken, and possibly some mention of the exposure (manual settings or auto). -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK. I have looked at the Metadata for a few and see ISO 800, exposure over 8 seconds and at F2.8. Time for 0013 was 19.45. -- Mike 55.13°N 6.69°W Coleraine posted to uk.sci.weather 10/11/2004 16:18:52 UTC |

Hello Bernard, I have updated the web page to include this info. All were taken in manual mode about 20:00 gmt. hopefully I will be able to provide a download section so that folk can see the pics as they came straight out of the camera. I am delighted that so many have looked at them. It took about 5mins or so from posting the link here before I ran out of bandwidth on the first attempt to publish them to the net. I shall be leaving them at both sites for now. Many thanks to everyone that has written back. John D |

I agree - splendid pictures - I'd like to see the originals :-)
-- MCC And here they are, completely untouched. Some of the pictures I took are in RAW format and are huge files, so I have not included them. The JPEGS however, are as they came out of the camera. http://www.hydrogene.co.uk/bellongajon/download/ |

As far as I can fathom it is the best display of aurora I have seen in the 4 years I have been on UK science weather. Thanks for x posting from UK sicence astronomy and sharing with us on uk science weather. I think I have a read of your ng to see what interesting things you have there :-) Regards, Gavin. |

Many thanks John. Those exposure details could come in very handy if and
when we get a display down here in the south, coinciding with clear skies. -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK.
