That statement sounds very right to me. One noteworthy entry for my
February COL submission :-)

Sort of a Dutch saying is that when thunder comes with snow in winter; you
can forget frost. (I guess its because there's simply too much unstability
for a severe frosty period.). Bit its indeed odd to hear thunder with
falling snow!

Wijke; SE Flevopolder - centre of the Netherlands
Tc + 1°C - cloudy but dry

Keith,

I can't get to your Worldwide Reports. The link buttons on the main part
of your home page won't display (red crosses only). Is there something
wrong - or is it my old PC ?

I was driving down the A13 at 20.15 at the time. I was trying to figure out
why it was torrential sleet when the thermometer (usually accurate) was
showing -1C. Then when I saw lightning and the radio crackled I thought I
really was going mad. Surprised it hasn't settled more given the intensity
and air temperature. For once I think the ground is warmer than the air!
