OK? I had no idea "white out" was a recognised term. I used it to describe what I saw! I was pulled up here a couple of years ago for using an inaccurate weather term. You never know who you'll offend do you? Just watched the weather forecast on the BBC for the S.E and he was showing a clip of Tunbridge Wells and described the showers as blizzard like which weren't settling. Now that is irratating! I had no idea "white out" was a recognised term.
Well, I've been using it for at least 40 years in the context of skiing to describe conditions such that you can see only whiteness -very disorientating indeed. I've also had occasion to use in in connection with trying to drive through a blizzard and unable to see anything except white. Extremely unpleasant. Anne |

Well, I've been using it for at least 40 years in the context of skiing to describe conditions such that you can see only whiteness -very disorientating indeed. I've also had occasion to use in in connection with trying to drive through a blizzard and unable to see anything except white. Extremely unpleasant. Anne |
