Default [WR] Half a foot of snow in Wishaw

6 inches / 15cm of prime white snow lying here this morning.
The snow finally moved away around 3am leaving a lovely picture postcard
scene.
I've uploaded the scene here at dawn to my website url below.
Seems we've got off lightly compared to some!
Alex.

Hi, Alex,

Did you get the rain gauge heater set up? Mine's worked quite well
during the past few days. A bit of a time lag, but better than nothing
and it gives a rough guide from indoors which appeals to me!

Ken. Sadly I didn't.
A troublesome anemometer at the end of last month distracted my attention, I
had to buy a new one and site it, so the rain gague heater became priority
No.2. I've got the bulbs for it (I'm planning to use two) - just need an
outdoor extension cable and then a bit of time to set it up.

A partial thaw here again today - but still holidng onto 4 or 5 inches
lying. Icicles began forming yesterday from some roofs and they have
lengthened today. The cover here is fairly even - as the wind has been no
more than a gentle breeze throughout. It's thawing over concrete surfaces
faster though and roads in the area have remained in a very good condition.
