Default re Arran weather report, hungry buzzards, etc

We lost a lot of postings with all the nuisance of the past few days.
We'd had some really interesting postings regarding buzzards, etc. All
lost. And, when we asked for help with websites for hosting pics there
were some very helpful suggestions. Again, these have all disappeared.
If you have five minutes, please can you repost to me. I feel stranded
in mid thread ;-)) Thanks.

It's a lovely sunny day, albeit somewhat nippy in the wind. The sunlight
has that bright, cold look. Daffodils and crocus are out everywhere
and, sounds unlikely I know, there's enough fresh mint out in the garden
to cut for very early mint sauce.

There's snow on the mountains and down here (30metres above sea level)
we had a sprinkle of snow last evening. Currently 1024.8mb and falling,
temp out 5C (with wind chill 4C), ten minute average wind speed 3mph,
mostly south westerly at garden level. Up above, the clouds are coming
down from east of north and thickening. I wonder if they're bringing us
more snow?

Thanks a lot Nick. Problems solved.

I went to a gardening club talk last evening about Arran garden birds.
Apparently the favourite foods of buzzards are voles, worms and beetles!
The voles have a 4 year cycle of population growth and decline, and the
current year has the lowest vole population of the four. So, hungry
buzzards in this cold weather are more dependent on worms and beetles,
hence the apparently strange behaviour..

We've had a lovely day here today. Our side of the Island is sheltered
from the north easterlies, so we had a good walk with the dog on the
local beach this afternoon. No real change in our weather over the past
few days.
