Default [WR] Further snow in the central lowlands

After a slight thaw yesterday the snow depth dropped from 15cm to around
10cm by evening.
Later in the evening we had a period of light sleet here. As the night
progressed it has gradually turned to snow - but very wet snow.
Consequently the snow depth here is around 9cm just now, tonights falls just
about balancing the rate at which the snow is thawing.

Interestingly, the other side of town (Wishaw), only two miles from here -
but approx 100ft lower - has seen rain and sleet all night, rather than
snow. And in these parts, the snow has all but gone from the ground. I
imagine the higher parts of Eastern Lanarkshire (700ft+) have seen little or
no thaw and a further 2 or 3 inches accumulation overnight.

Alex.
