That's one of the best things about really deep snow: the silence when cars
can't get about. I remember once in central Moscow we had a prolonged period
of very heavy thunder-snow and the whole city ground to a halt (a rare thing
in Russia where snow is a fact of life) -- complete silence. Lovely.
