everyone is, even the person whose site it is.

They can have no right to do so, they might well have purchased the domain
and set up the site in order to show photos to friends and family but they
can't stop anyone else looking at the pics.

If they wanted them to remain private then they should have sought another
solution, email or ftp for instance.

You didn't create your own page and link directly to each of their photos,
or pass them off as your own.

They've no right to complain.

I'm the owner of the site in question. You are right that the site is
public and can be viewed by anyone. That is not my gripe. It is
Overfield's posting of the link that is the problem. I would have
happily posted the link here myself at some point if asked, particularly
had I been alerted to this thread. However, Rob knew full well that I
did not want the link to be posted here at the time at which he posted
it. This has nothing to do with this group but has everything to do with
Overfield. Rob posting the url could have caused wider problems for me.
However, that is, as they say, bugger all to do with you lot. So I'll
let the pictures speak for themselves.

This is my first day back at work after a week snowbound on Boltshope
Park---where I live. I have spent more time shovelling snow that I ever
want to again! I have some more pictures which I will try to publish
tomorrow. For the record the Boltshope Park weather station is my neighbour.

improved pasture in the Durham Dales, North Pennines, near Bolts Law. It
contains a handful of houses. The nearest settlement on a roadmap would
be Hunstanworth (near Blanchland) about a mile away though Townfield
would show on a 1:50K OS map.
