I found a couple of pictures taken in January 1982 in Worcester. I know
there are many more I took at the time but as yet I have been unable to find
them.

This one shows ice floes on the River Severn, just south of the old bridge
in the city centre, opposite the cathedral. This is downstream of the
bridge, upstream of the bridge the ice floes had piled up on one another
allowing a few daring people to cross the river (reminiscent of 'freezing
over' which used to happen occasionally in the 1920's & 30's, according to
my grandmother) on the ice. I seem to remember there was concern that the
ice floes were putting the bridge under strain.

Taken in my parents' back garden showing the old mutt after I had taken him
for a walk. I remember that the snow was over 50 cm deep (level snow) but
around the side of the house it had drifted up against the wall so deep that
we couldn't use the side entrance. It took my dad the whole weekend to dig
through it.

I am sure somewhere I have pictures showing people walking across the river
on the ice, also pictures showing the snow piled over 2 metres deep on the
side of the road where the snow plough had been. I will try and find them.
