Default HRPT image

This interesting image shows the extent of the lee effect off the island of
Madeira. The image is channel 1, visible, and the lighter band is caused by
sun-glint in the lee area of reduced sea roughness. The curvature is due to
the same mechanism that generates von-Karman vortices.
