I was almost face with a difficult decision this morning as to whether to
define today as a day of snow lying, but light overnight snow made it an easy one in the end. The valley here is steep sided and runs approximately N-S. The hill tops, up to 160m are much clearer of snow, apart from the very tops, partly as a result of drifting and partly down to exposure. However, the gardens in the village have a good degree of cover remaining. This is quite localised, as less than a mile down the valley, it widens significantly and is completely clear of snow. -- David Mitchell, 70m amsl, Langtoft, East Riding of Yorkshire. |
