Hi, All,
Freezing rain here this morning. Screen temp -2C and ice on all untreated surfaces - horrible. The incessant Pennine wind fell at last overnight, consequently the coldest night of 2004 here, down to -6C with -12.5C on the grass. Probably around -10C down at t'Copley Mill, where there is little trouble, btw! Best wishes, -- Ken Cook, Copley (5miles north of Barnard Castle), County Durham. 830ft http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/copley (MO climat. site updated before 10Z and 19Z daily) kencookATcopleydurham.freeserve.co.uk (All times GMT) --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Same up here Ken, a skiff of snow overnight and freezing rain so far since
first light, -11 on the grass last night and -7 in the box, now is around -2 C and raining. All surfaces are glazed with ice, can't get to my rain gauges at all. Lots of very droopy plants around and the conifers look all sad. Managed to get my office from -2 at 0900 to a workable 3 C now at 1015 brian aberfeldy perthshire "Ken Cook" wrote in message ... Signs of a little freezing rain on the frozen ground, but I really have to
record "drizzle" - gone for a code 5 for the state of ground though ? -8.6c on the grass here, which for me is very cold without any snow cover - temps now up to +4c at 10am, may take a while for that frost to come out of the ground. Youngest boys football called off this morning. Paul Brampton www.bramptonweather.co.uk |

Roughly 5am to 11am. It took hold of some surfaces better than others. The birds at the bird table in the garden cerainly had a slippy time of it. Didn't notice any sleetiness here this morning - still had no snow falling this season here either. Temperature jumped 5บC in an hour either side of 3pm here, back into miserable November. ![]() Just a little freezing drizzle here Ken. -6.7 last night, but only -7.4 on the grass. David Mitchell, 70m amsl, Langtoft, East Riding of Yorkshire. Horrid in Livingston, West Lothian. Drove in from Edinburgh, blissfully unaware of the danger, until I set foot on a verglassed carpark. Very cold orienteering, all the grass was iced up as were twigs and fences. Paths unusable due to ice. Richard Webb |
