Default [WR] Snow, north Kent

The forecasts suggested rain turning to sleet then snow today, but in the
past two hours it's already turned to snow. There's a slushy covering on
cars and it's trying (unsuccessfully) to settle on the grass.

Hard surfaces are soaking wet, so it's melting on impact there.

The air temperature's 0.7C, which is the same as the overnight low.

(WR refers to Leysdown, north Kent, 10m ASL)

Default [WR] Snow, north Leeds

2inches of snow in last 1 hour at Alwoodley Gates north Leeds in last hour
and a half. Now 8am and still coming down as a blizzard.
Traffic blocked at Harewood.
Heaviest snow of the winter, but looking at the orientation and size of the
snow shower on met office radar ,it is a 20mile wide streamer ,but maybe 50
miles long with a north easterly track ,taking the majority of the snow over
Leeds.
It shows just how local showers can be.
