As promised.... M4 OK from J2 to J14, light snow started past J14
(7.30ish) - alternating light/moderate with the odd heavy patch until J18,
whereupon it turns lighter again. Swindon traffic reports were stating clear
major roads but settling snow on minor routes.

Just got home after my meeting in Shrivenham - took about 1 and a half
hours to get back to about Hammersmith and then another 3 hours to get
back to Blackheath...

Thanks very much indeed, cupra, for your report - it made a great
difference to my confidence - there was a lot of blowing snow across the
M4 round Membury and Swindon, but nothing settled. The way back was dry
until London, then just nasty sleet all the - very tedious - way home.
Thank heavens I didn't have to get any further east, though...
