Following on from the discussion elsethread about US weather reporting,
I thought people might find this interesting: From CNN dated 22 November: "An unusual type of storm nicknamed an "insider slider" blanketed Southern California mountains with up to 3 feet of snow and even coated desert areas with white. [...] The storm developed in British Columbia and swept into Nevada before reaching California. It was called an inside slider because of its rare track into Southern California from the northeast instead of the typical route off the Pacific Ocean." The link to the story is: www.cnn.com/2004/WEATHER/11/22/california.storm.ap/index.html -- Elizabeth |
