A dull, drizzly morning (snowy in the surrounding hills, mountains *and* the
northern suburbs) was followed by a sunny, crispy day sunshine and
orographic cloudiness with snowfalls in the northern parts of Attica.
Snowflakes were falling in the very dry air under intense sunshine even in
downtown Athens during the afternoon from the distant clouds (~10 km further
north), while a short deterioration of weather conditions brought more
intense snow showers throughout much of Attica again in the early evening.

Snow had already visited Attica on November 21st; low lying areas around
Athens hardly ever see snow -especially lying- in November, so it's quite
rare that it snowed twice within 4 days. The case with the surrounding hills
is, apparently, quite different. 1 snow day for downtown Athens, 3 for the
northern suburbs thusfar. Snow is now lying in some of the northern suburbs
of the capital, as well as much of isl. Euboea and the central, eastern and
northern Aegean isles (especially the hills and mountains).

Low temperatures are forecast for Friday morning (ms 9 in Florina, NW
Greece).
