.uk... Also on the 10am news bulletin there was an article concerning the "severe" cold snap we were suffering and the new danger that had suddenly arisen at our very own doorsteps. The danger of slipping over on the pavement outside in the snow. Hmmmm interesting. I have gotten up this winter and in previous 2 winters to icy surfaces on many occasions and nobody ever told me to be careful. Strewth I even drove up the hill outside our house the other day in hard packed snow and ice and nobody warned me. I even went to do a bit of sightseeing on snowy roads and nobody warned me of the dangers. And then the other day I walked 1400 feet up on the open moor in driving snow with less than 100m visibility and the temperature well below freezing but nobody told me it was dangerous and that I shouldn't have done it. Why wasn't I warned ? :-) Will. -- " Visit Haytor meteorological office at http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...met_office.htm " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A COL BH site in East Dartmoor at Haytor, Devon 310m asl (1017 feet). mailto: www: http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk DISCLAIMER - All views and opinions expressed by myself are personal and do not necessarily represent those of my employer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

All it takes is for the head teacher to issue a memorandum to all parents and guardians stating that the school will take all reasonable care to make sure that pathways in and around the school premises will be kept as clear as is practical, and that no responsibility will be taken by the school in the event of any injury caused by such. Job done. Laughable. You are a poor deluded individual. Did you have a traumatic experience when you were at school? What he says seems OK. He says that schools should endeavour to take all 'reasonable' steps to ensure that in wintry weather school premises are kept as safe as possible. What's wrong with that? Repeat performance by stiff upper dick head removed as we have had this
rant before. (One for the FAQs list then.) 1. How many children are killed in your neck of the woods on days that 1/4" of snow has not fallen? 2. How safe are the roads (in 2005) in one of the most built up regions in the world (where everyone goes everywhere in a vehicle; which none can drive in the least amount of snow recordable) between 3 and 5 pm? Answers on a post-card stuck to the screen of your computer for the next time it snows. Idiot. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |
