Is there anyone on the newsgroup who knows a thing or two about Met Office
pattern Precision Aneroid Barometers, in particular the MK2 model? I have three questions that I'd welcome answers to: 1. How often do these instruments need recalibrating? The one I have was last calibrated in 1998. 2. The calibration report compares the absolute test pressures with pressures recorded by the instrument (with pressure increasing and decreasing). The differences range typically from 0.1 to 0.3mb. Am I right in thinking these differences represent the calibration corrections that need to be applied for a correct reading of station level pressure? 3. Where can I get a replacement cathode-ray tube - if I need to replace it? How long do these last? -- Mike Lewis Department of Geography and Geology (incorporating Pitsford Hall weather station) Northamptonshire Grammar School Northampton, United Kingdom NN6 9AX.
