Default sudden rise in temp

Not as hot as further north-east - but here in Bournemouth we topped out at
29.5c by 1100 (around this time Bournemouth airport reported 32c) before the
sea breeze kicked in pulling back temps to 26c. (28c at EGHH) In the last
half hour the sea breeze has died away and we now have a light
north-easterly and 32c.

The airport is reporting only 30c but my davis screen is over grass and in
shade, albeit in an urban area, so think the reading is genuine.

I've just recorded my highest of the year (well for many years I
think) of 31.9, quite late in the day at 4:35pm. Beats my 31.4 on
Tuesday the 5th and finally, Solent MRSC's max 31.7 the same day
(always annoys me when they beat me!). Still hoping for 90F (32.1) but
it'll have to be quick.

Southampton A/P also reporting 32C at 1520GMT, it's highest of the
year.

31.9C max here in Christchurch, making it the hottest day for some yrs. Over
34C at the Airport a few miles further away from the coast.

Not a bad day to have a birthday on !!
