Up here, so far, March has been first mild, then cold, then warm and now
cool ... 'they' are forecasting more mild so I might get a month of five

Every month since June has been more or less like that here, except for
October which was nasty and wet throughout. We've had most things so
far this month- snow, hail, sunshine, and now lots of murk and low
cloud. I like March because it so often produces all kinds of weather.

I suspect that where you are Paul, February & March have been quite dramatic
with regard to differences between the first half and the second half as
they have been here in Worcester.

With the last week being so warm, it has made a big difference to my mean
March temperatures, averages so far of: Min 3.0C, Max 10.2, mean 6.6C.

With the 'mild' weather set to continue, it looks like this March will be a
warm one overall.
