The MO have decided to stop taking manual obs at London Weather Centre
from 00z tonight. Thus there will be no present weather, cloud and visibility obs although the other parameters will be taken automatically. This means no more snow verification, etc etc. What a travesty No obs in the capital city. Paul. |

This means no more snow verification, etc etc. What a travesty No obs in the capital city. .... a sad day indeed; I always thought that where there were staff available, then some manual element would be preserved, even if the machinery was left to do the donkey work. Yes Paul, another absolute disaster. If one asks the question, is the
weather safe in the Met Office's hands, the answer must be, sadly and disgracefully, NO. As taxpayers, we are being taken for a ride, pay more and get less.
