I have it on good authority that the 11.2 mm rainfall reported from Watnall
on Thursday evening was wrong. It seems that a heavy-footed spider was building a web inside the recording rain gauge and caused spurious readings by stamping on the tipping buckets ! Colin Youngs Brussels |
